About Us

Coding

Mission Statement

CFF is dedicated to enhancing coding abilities and fostering a deeper appreciation for computer science. Our goal is to increase diversity in coding fields by providing resources, workshops, and opportunities to underrepresented communities. We aim to spark children's interest in coding by organizing engaging and interactive activities that introduce basic programming concepts. Additionally, we support students from low-income areas and schools without AP Computer Science courses by giving them the opportunity to take the AP Exam and pursue a career in computer science.

Meet The Team

Sibo Tao

Chair

Sibo Tao, a junior at Yorba Linda High School, is one of the co-founders of Coding For Future. His passion for computer science began during a visit to his brother at UCI's game development summer school program, where he discovered his interest in designing and building video games. Since then, he has delved into various fields of computer science, including game development, web development, data science, and programming in general.

While forced to enroll in expensive and tedious coding courses, Sibo came up with the idea of starting a nonprofit organization that provides free and interactive programming resources. In his free time, he enjoys visiting zoos and aquariums to observe cute animals, competing with his friend Peixuan in different board games, and playing badminton.

Ethan Yang

Vice Chair

Ethan Yang was born in West Covina, California, and he is currently attending Yorba Linda High School in the graduating class of 2024. Ever since his teacher presented Scratch to him 8 years ago, he has developed a love and great interest for coding. He began enthusiastically learning more and more about coding, leading him to create his own games and websites. The fact that coding has the potential to pave a path for unlimited creativity was why Ethan found it so fascinating and fun. From an early age, Ethan has also possessed the passion to make a difference in the lives of others and share his own joyful experiences with those around him.

As such, when Ethan co-founded Coding For Future, he was able to successfully incorporate both his passions perfectly. One of the things that Ethan loves about the program is that children are able to form meaningful friendships and memorable experiences in each and every event he holds. It is this very fact that motivates Ethan to continue to lead this program in the future.

Peixuan Li

Secretary

Peixuan Li, a junior at Yorba Linda High School, enjoys tinkering with computer hardware or coding software with a deep interest in the inner workings of computer systems. He is likely to be highly motivated and driven by his desire to create and innovate. His first contact with computers began in the computer lab during elementary school. After learning block coding, he realized that coding supplied endless freedom and creativity. He signed up for more advanced computer science classes during his first year of high school and learned more real coding. Since then, his interest in computers has only grown.

When he heard his friend Sibo's idea of starting a coding non-profit organization, he was the first to support him. He hopes to help others learn to code, especially those who don’t have access to the materials and hardware required. During his free time, he creates computer projects with Sibo. These projects help the community and environment. They’ve even submitted their projects to competitions, in hopes of winning awards.

Brent Lee

Business Manager

Brent Lee is a junior at Valencia High School. In his downtime, he enjoys playing video games with friends and building things. Since his childhood, he has had an interest in computers and programming. Since then, he has completed various different projects, from simple programs to an entire mechanical keyboard. The ability to build anything imaginable drove him to continue his engineering journey.

When he heard about the opportunity to make a difference in his community and give others the same coding experiences he received as a child through the co-founding of this organization, he joined without hesitation. Contributing to the creation of this website has been yet another great learning experience for him to grow from. Brent hopes that this organization will prosper and that he will be able to help many others learn about programming and engineering pathways.

Samuel Hsu

Volunteer Manager

Samuel Hsu, a junior at Valencia High School, is the manager of volunteers at Coding For Future. Samuel developed a passion for coding and software development at a young age. Enrolled in Valencia’s technology program, Samuel has aced various rigorous courses such as AP Computer Science A and IBHL Computer Science. He is also interested in and excels in other STEM classes such as AP Chemistry and mathematics. Samuel has been playing violin for eight years and currently plays for WRCM’s orchestra. Samuel is also a member of his school’s volleyball team. In his free time, Samuel enjoys playing volleyball, playing video games, drawing, and watching movies.

Jason Zeng

Director of Media

Jason Zeng is a junior at Valencia High School and one of the founding members of Coding For Future. Jason has an extensive background in computer science, having taken coding classes from a young age, and passed rigorous classes such as AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science A, and IBHL Computer Science. Jason is also enrolled in Valencia's ValTech and International Baccalaureate program, and is a member of his school's volleyball team. He also happens to be a board member of Valencia Esports. Currently, Jason's proudest achievement is getting a 100% on the recent calculus exam. In his free time, Jason enjoys playing volleyball, video games and watching movies.

Joseph Lee

Director of Outreach

Joseph Lee is a junior at Yorba Linda High School. He has deep computer science knowledge, taking both AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Sciences A. He is looking into veterinary medicine as a career choice and is taking AP Chemistry and is planning on taking AP Environmental Sciences and AP Biology in his senior year. Joseph is an integral part of the Coding for Future organization as he organizes and reaches out to various organizations for collaborative efforts.

He wants to reach even more people and introduce them to computer science. Outside his academic career, he enjoys working at the local animal hospital and doing physical activities such as badminton and the gym. He is very happy to be part of the team and hopes to meet more and more people as the organization grows.

Christopher Chen

Event Manager

Christopher Chen is a junior at Valencia High School. He has scored well in both AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A exams. Apart from computer science, he also enjoys other parts of STEM and is currently taking AP Calculus AB and AP Chemistry. Although he is no longer taking classes in computer science, he decided to become involved with Coding For Future because he enjoys being able to create complex websites or games through programming and code.

He hopes to help support the organization's goal to expose kids to programming and hopefully motivate some to pursue it as a career choice. When he’s not being a lazy lemon, Chris enjoys playing tennis, working out, hanging out with friends, or just relaxing while watching TV.
